I hope that users of rings are not hitting their fingers that hard with or without a ring on. :D

If they do, they are in big trouble. Just hope the emergency room has a submersible diamond cutter to get the ring off to save the finger.

in my "real" profession, or at least the one paying my pension; our ambulances carry diamond ring cutters to do just that.

you really would be surprised at the things that people wrap around their fingers and then can't figure how to get them off.

John

We sell wedding bands in all 4 of the metals
shown on the video.

What they didn't show you is how Tungsten
will literally shatter if you hit it too hard in
the right place.

Imagine the look on our customer's face
when he brought his (supposedly) "indestrucable"
shattered Tungsten band back to the store
to show us.

I've seen the emergency removal performed. As someone who has had training as both a jeweler and a paramedic, I agree with you 100%!!!

Snizzy here is a YouTube video of how to do it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poM423pe ... re=related

When I saw it done for the first time it was in a trauma situation. You have to picture this being done on a finger that is already broken, and the swelling is up around, and enveloping the wedding band. Then picture that you're going to do this and apply even more pressure to the swollen area while the patient is screaming.
