Hello all!

I have found this pink sapphire online and it seems almost too good to be true. From the pictures it has virtually no inclusions and its colour is absolutely amazing!

https://www.thenaturalsapphirecompany.c ... re-p3259-/

I can’t really afford it... though I’ve been on a quest for the “perfect” pink sapphire

I have heard a few negative things about this vendor, at the very least that they’re overpriced.

What do you all think? Is this stone really worth that much? Would it be a good buy? As for my personal preferences, I really don’t mind native cuts and windows, I actually like the rounded stones and the window is a nice and calm centre in the sparkle.

TIA

Mandira

I have found the Natural Sapphire Company's prices to be quite fair.
They have a huge selection and goods are properly represented.
The particular stone you've linked to is a bit shallow and windowed.
The color is extraordinary but I personally could not live with the window.

Yeah, that window is a real bummer. For 20k I feel like you wouldn't want a stone with such an obvious flaw, even if the color and clarity are very good.

Windows like this are never good technically. But if you like them you should be able to save money when buying stones.

I would never buy such a poorly cut stone unless the price was so low I could recut it.

That cut is no Unicorn, more like a donkey....

Hahahah donkey =D>

Thanks for your opinions.

This has to be the cleanest natural pink sapphire I’ve ever seen, unfortunately it’s not in my budget. Hoping to win a lottery before it’s sold to someone else...

Windows in stones really give the eye a break from the sparkles, and make the actual colour more apparent. Not that the sparkles aren’t a good thing. It’s more like the window is an oasis of Zen amidst the pomp and show. I’m aware my opinion is very fringe! :P

Maybe you should consider a cabochon.

I find them too dull for a transparent stone. This stone would be perfect for me with the window a little smaller.

I think the color looks great. I could do with the window, if I were sure that the color is true to life, the real thing. On the internet you can never be sure that a color is not misrepresented.

Plus, if you look at the 2 suggested jewel designs at the bottom of the page, the stone's window doesn't seem to affect the brightness at all, while in reality it probably would. The window seems to be lost in a pink haze, no dullness, no transparency. I suspect a bit of photoshopping here...

Maybe I am a bit over-wary.

I've seen smaller windows on a cathedral.
