I wonder if any of the brilliant minds on this forum have tried to solve that poem that leads to the $1-3 million dollar treasure hidden out west by Forrest Fenn? I found out about it after I saw it on Fox News when that guy died looking for it. I put this post under "topics related to gemology", because the treasure includes quite a number of diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, along with all that gold. I spent quite a few hours attempting it myself, and came up with a pretty good solve for it. I am sure that happens to a lot of folks though. Some of the folks on here are pretty smart, and it would be interesting to see what they can come up with.
Here is the actual treasure chest he hid the loot in. It's a 30 pound solid bronze roman chest valued at $30,000.

As I have gone alone in there And with my treasures bold, I can keep my secret where, And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt And take it in the canyon down, Not far, but too far to walk. Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek, The end is ever drawing nigh; There’ll be no paddle up your creek, Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze, Look quickly down, your quest to cease, But tarry scant with marvel gaze, Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go And leave my trove for all to seek? The answers I already know, I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good, Your effort will be worth the cold. If you are brave and in the wood I give you title to the gold.

He actually has a good reason for doing it. He had cancer in like 2008 and thought he was done for but he beat it and now he wants to do something meaningful. He made millions selling art in Santa Fe, and decided to do something that would get people out and about, and away from their TV's and computers. He wants people to enjoy the outside and to do things together with friends and family that doesn't require them to be inside on their smartphones and stuck with the boob tube.
Pretty cool thing to do for people. Something like 65,000+ people have gone out looking for it.
