Dear sisters and brothers in gems on this forum!

It has beeen a quite long time since I posted my last entry. I didn´t refuse to take part in the gemmological discussions because a lack interest; the reason for my long ongoing absence was a self - choiced retreatment from the web at all. For the first time in a decade I didn´t answer any emails or even logged into the net at all. This unusual move was triggered months ago, when i got my personal copy of Richard Wise´s Book about the secret in gem trade.

I was personnally astonished by the power of truth he spoke about. And I learned my lesson.

Since you all may know my regional connections to the matter of austrian emeralds (My posted general overview is still of interest in the forum as I saw by the page hits) I chose to take up the challenge of writing a monography about this matter.

Dear Richard, I was really impressed by the love of top gems that I was able to read between the lines.

Since I did go digging for emeralds since I was a child, I retreated to privacy and set myself down to bring my thoughts to paper.

Now most of my thoughts are written, and so I only have to stand up for the tests ahead: copyrights (as for historical images), beeing lectured by professionals (Mineralogists AND gemmologists as well as translators).

Although I may have been off for a time, I know that gemmaniacs as well as gemmologists will be happy to hear the following message:

There will be a book regarding history, mineralogy and myths regarding the austrian Emeralds soon.

It will be translated and published in English from the date of market entry on.

By doing my research on the matter I found severeal serious proves for a change of the nowadays accepted gemmological - historical position of the emerald occurrance itself.

This site will be the first one to know what I am talking about

with a warm smile for those who are out there,

Nikolaus Lackner

That smile of yours is contagious :P

The mention of field trips and beautiful specimens from the locality earlier on, make for quite a teaser

Fingers crossed for the book!
