Just received an e-mail from Luciana Barbosa telling me that John Veevaert (Trinity Minerals- MineralAuctions.com) passed away in a car accident. I know that beside myself, at least a few G.O. members participated in his auctions. He is really going to be missed. John was one of the good guys in the gem business.

Yes, this is very sad.

I met him once in person - won a benitoite on Mineral auction and got it 2016 in Munichshow - and had a nice talk to him.

I love benitoite and his site, the pictures and his collection are gorgous.

Möge er in Frieden ruhen..

Never met him, but knew of him and Trinity minerals.
From the outpouring of grief and responses I have seen, he was someone worthy of knowing and being friends with. Lots of the "upper crust" folks in the rocks and minerals trade knew him well, or so it seemed, from what I read and seen online.
