We are pleased to announce that our new book, Ruby & Sapphire: A Gemologist's Guide, is now shipping. At 816 pp., it is a massive rewrite of our 1997 book, Ruby & Sapphire, and arguably the most comprehensive book ever published on a single gem family. Over a thousand color photos, illustrations and maps. More than 3500 references. More than 90% of the illustrations are new compared with the previous edition.

I can assure you it is worth the wait. Got myself a personal copy as well as one for Alice to give her future gemological inspiration as Richard wrote in her copy. Awesome book and fricking heavy. 4+ kilos...
Also need to tell you all that the book release party was great and gave me the opportunity to meet old and make new friends. Missed those of my friends that could not make it there. A big thank you to Richard, Wimon and Billie!

I just received my book yesterday and am more than thrilled! I didn't understand why people were making such a big deal about this book but now I know. It is awesome! My 2 year old daughter tried to take it but it is too big and heavy for her. I can appreciate all of the time and effort that was put in this book and am glad to say that it is under priced which is a huge benefit for all of us that can enjoy it! Thank you again!

I received my copy today. I spent a few hours just flipping through each of the pages to get a feel for the book and content. It will take a long time to read and absorb this book. I cannot express how incredible this piece of work is. Content, presentation, photography, and printing are all first rate. It is a magnificent piece of work, and belongs in every gemology library. Rubies and Sapphires are the top tier of colored stones. They are the most costly and important of gems. Rubies, and Sapphires have many sources, treatments, and imitators. All of these have the potential for huge financial impact in trading, and or evaluating these gems. This book looks to be the most complete study of these subjects that I have ever seen. When you review the attributions of contributors to this book, it is a "who's who" of industry experience and knowledge. The best of the best.

Congratulations to the entire Lotus Gemology team for an extremely valuable contribution to the industry knowledge base. I encourage everyone to get a copy.

Also, thanks Richard for taking the time to sign my copy.
