David Weinberg, GG, discusses the definitive factors responsible for color in gemstones and how we perceive it. In our Relics & Rarities section, we feature some unusually transparent bluish green chrysoprase from the Yerilla deposit in Western Australia. http://www.multicolour.com/newsletters/ ... b-2020.pdf |

Interestingly, I have attended yesterday a very interesting conference from Pr Emmanuel Fritsch on the same subject (how to describe colors in gemstones) and explaining very clearly why gems' colors cannot be faithfully reproduced on photos, and why they cannot be reduced into percentages and figures. |

Very interesting. Dr Emmanuel Fritsch is one of my most respected people in our industry. Is there a corresponding article with the talk? |
