You set the angle you want to cut the facet at with whichever type of protractor your machine uses.

Then you use the mast height adjuster to lower or raise the stone so that it is in contact with your cutting lap at the desired angle.

also i have two more questions. 1.when you transfer the dop stick, is it supposed to be positioned at a certain angle in order to cutt the proper angles? 2. where is the best place to buy a new lapidary machine?

There should be a piece of equipment called a transfer jig that comes with your machine. This is designed to ensure that you stone is properly aligned after the transfer.

Where, and what machine to buy depends on where you live most likely. Where do you live?

It's apparent that you need some very basic knowledge about faceting. I suggest that you get a copy of Tom Herbst's "Amateur Gemstone Faceting", Volume 1. It's available from Amazon at https://smile.amazon.com/Amateur-Gemstone-Faceting-1-Essentials/dp/3000474749/ref=sr_1_1?crid=25CBIUJ36AEB5&dchild=1&keywords=faceting+books&qid=1595334766&sprefix=faceting%2Caps%2C252&sr=8-1
