I'm in a predicament where I cannot reach the wall outlet directly with my Ultratec V5, and will need to use an extension cord. Is there much risk involved in this if I can procure the proper extension cord?

What kind of risk are you concerned about? An extension cord should be fine as long as it's appropriately rated.

Yeah I agree, what would be the issue.
Use a Power Strip with the shortest length needed. But in all honestly, I have extension cords and or power strips on my machines and have no problems.

I ended up attaching a power strip on the back of my UT where I could plug in the lights plug in the adapter for the digital head and then have it with a long enough cord to plug-in wherever I needed it. I don’t see any problems with using an extension cord the power draw on these guys are so small that even the lightest extension cords gonna be able to handle load with no voltage loss
