Hi. can anyone advise what is the best tools and equipment to use to quickly test Unheated sapphire?

For myself, it would be a refractometer.
You can use FTIR- spectrometer for Unheated sapphire. If you do not have an FTIR, you can use a microscope to test the Unheated/heated treatment.

How have you already classified it unheated? Or are you meaning how do you test if it is unheated?

Like most separations of natural or synthetic, and treatments, magnification is the key. A good microscope and an even better education is what is required. Refractometers and most other attainable/affordable tools are of little to no use for this.
