I received an email from CPAA to introduce an online course on pearls. The course website is www.pearlsasone.org. The course took me about 8 to 10 hours to finish. It was excellent in explaining the different types of pearls and their history. Most of the course was written with images and has a fair amount of video thrown in. Pretty light on the gemological side of things but would be excellent for salespeople or as general interest. They have the course listed for 599.00. The nice people at Pearl Paradise have a blog with a free coupon if you want to give it a try. PEARL10951PARADISE I know some of you will not want to see the oysters tortured, but overall the video of the nucleation is not hard to watch.

And there is here a high level website dedicated to pearl education, with a wealth of information, not to mention an excellent forum with pearl specialists. Everything for free.
