A friend found these at 4600 ft elevation in the mtns about 30 miles east of Bakersfield, Ca. Can you tell if they are coral? She says "This was found in Tehachapi Ca, And is scattered all over this hill and also imbedded in clay and Volcanic rocks.Does not seem to leave color,on scratch test,It's Crystallized also seems fibrous but can't scratch or flake with nail or knife,Light emits thru it, At first I thought it was common Opal. But now i have no Idea.Any thoughts on this would be great And thank you in advance. Also all Crystals start from center and have rings some blue others yellow to rust color, And it came out of the volcanic/lava rocks, is there any test to confirm what it is. thank you again."ImageImageImage

I'm not 100% sure. It kind of looks more like an orbicular rhyolite to me, though it's hard to tell from the photos.
