I disagree kentwang.
Lightbox retails lab grown at $800/carat.

Ritani sells 1ct emerald cuts at well below $500/ct.

I don't deal with lab grown diamonds but i have colleagues who deal with them and i see them selling at wholesale level between -85% to -96% discounts from Rapaport list price depending on the size, cut, clarity, color....

The current dealer to retailer price is +- a few percent of -90% of the Rappaport list price depending on size, shape, quality parameters.

The price has been falling steadily over the last few years. I still think they are priced too high. I believe that eventually the price will disassociate from the Rappaport List and the value of mined diamonds. Lab grown Diamonds are a manufactured product. Like any commodity manufactured product the price will eventually settle at the cost to produce plus a reasonable markup.

Currently you can buy a piece of manufactured rough to cut a 1ct RBC of white color G+, SI1 plus clarity, and Triple Ex make for a bit less than $500. You can have it cut to Triple Ex standards between $80-$100. You can have a respected report done for about $75. So, figure a little less than $700 for the stone.

As Barbra has pointed out some shapes will be much lower due to higher yields, so much smaller rough to get 1ct finished stones.

I hope you find this information useful.

Agreed on your selling numbers, we have actually had a few in the last few months @-97.5 & -98% pass through with good quality numbers and GIA certs.
