A stunning 10.68 cts black opal that I've cut not long ago. The brightness is insane! Like different colored neon lights lighting up as you rotate the stone...

Nice opal!
They are never to bright, and yes like many times. The wonder of opal is they are never the same as another and they are never quite the same at different angles. And quite the PIA to photo.

Yes, an opal photograph is far too restrictive a representation of an actual opal.
That's why I decided to make opal holograms. These so-called "reflection holograms" can be seen using white light, and you can tilt them around in hand to see the color play just as in the real opal.
