I came across this stunning Emerald and Ruby Necklace a few days ago. The Jeweler has managed to get together some of the most beautiful pieces of rubies and emeralds and put them together. Rubies are from Afghanistan, while Emeralds are from Swat (Pakistan) and Panjsher (Afghanistan).

My, those stones must have taken a time to gather.

Idea  . I would like to see the fancy diamond center piece removable.

For Red Carpet events: perfect with diamonds.

The emerald and ruby studded neck chain could be worn more casually.

Nice idea Barbara. If I end up buying it, will definitely think about it.

It isn't to my taste, and I note one of the rubies is not color matched to the others. I don't like the design, either.

I agree with you David. It would not go well with your existing wardrobe and not look good on you....

Perhaps that's why Barbra suggested separating the larger piece from others, to be worn as a separate one :D

The world is diverse. Tastes and cultural preferences differ. That's fine.

Juist to be clear, my post was more a joke with David than a comment on the style of your necklace.

Absolutely.
I would have nowhere to wear the piece with the diamond attachment but I am quite serious about the wearability (is that a word?) of an extendable ruby and emerald chain.

I would also consider making the diamond bit attachable to a plain chain.
