The one thing that would interest us to hear is the story : where these stones come from and how you came into possession of them. But as you will probably not tell us, because you will think it is a waste of time, and nobody here is rich enough - at least I guess - to acquire museum pieces, the only advice we can give you is to get updated and trustable lab reports and then go to major auction houses. I personnally am not a big fan of alexandrites be they small or big, but monsters of that kind, if they exist, will certainly find a new loving home at some point.
As to "how rare they really are", and their value, I am sure that Internet has already provided you plenty of information about that.

So it is real. O.K. - not a troll.
The only advice I can give you for free is the same you got from Barbra.
Auction house ( the top ones ) or a high end jeweller like Graff.

Hi PAGemstones,
Did you acquire the report yourself or did you acquire the stones with the report?
There is a verification number on reports of reputable labs. I say this because I have heard of fake reports circulating in Asia and an extra precaution wouldn't be so bad given the type of stones you have.
Gubelin's verification can only track 2011 reports to present. I suggest you get a recent report from a reputable lab, otherwise, for such size of alexandrite, people would be wary buying it without easy verification

Thanks PAGemstones. Received documentation, pictures and video. The Gubelin was issued in 2007. i think you should get a contemporary report from GIA. Chances are good that the GIA will feature it in an upcoming Gems and Gemology publication.
Once that is accomplished, again I think the auction houses would be your best bet as they attract international buyers who could afford the stone. Finding a private buyer, would be difficult if you do not travel in the circles of very well healed collectors.

Thanks for taking time to share everyone's opinion about the stone. I highly value it. It might be hard to believe. It is real and it exists. If anyone wants to know more about the stone feel free to email me at pagemstones@gmail.com.
I do not want to post about something fake and waste your time. I guess my next step would be to take another report before anything. I already emailed a couple of auction houses and haven't heard anything back yet. But i prefer a private buyer. I have no issue if a serious buyer wants to do their own testing before they buy.
Other Alex is 33 cts. And it has a yellowish green to orange color change. I guess it doesnt have much value cause of color change?
By the way have you guys heard about Sinhalites? I know that is not a very "famous" stone in the trade. But here is a picture.

When you work with an auction, the buyer will probably be a private buyer. The auction house isn't buying it from you, their business is selling it for you, for a fee.

Sinhalite is a collector gem - sometimes quite large and not very expensive. Def. not very "famous" in the trade. Maybe a bit underrated course well cut they are really nice.

Seriously? Out of all the folks that have come by Gemologyonline over the years, saying they have this stone, or that stone, and 99 out of 100 times it's another "to-good-to-be-true" situation that turns up...... How is it that the next person through the door(PAGemstones), happens to have an alex that is actually this big?? What would the price for something like that be? I would wager to guess it's from India, is it happens to be real. I still find something odd here...... I would get a prestige report from AGL in New York as soon as possible. If your stone is legit and you have it in hand, then I would get a current lab report and an appraisal for insurance purposes immediately. I wonder what David Weinberg would think about this stone, since he is an expert on alex???

This is the same reaction i get every time. It is too hard to believe that it exists and I completely understand why. Specially because of the fake reports and fake stones.
I have no idea how much it is worth. That's one of the things i want to learn from the experts.

Isi, I've had some large brownish 4-ray star quartzes that had a dominant ray vs. a very weak ray that gave the impression of a cat's-eye. But in my experience the weak ray is always visible in some types of lighting.
