This contentious sapphire is violet when viewed under daylight equivalent light. It is free of inclusions but for the fine curved hair like inclusion. I have read that one can get curved platinum inclusions like this one in some Chatham Synthetics (GIA Fall 1982 Pg 153). It has a typical ruby spectrum with a strong chromium presence. The issue is the client is getting different opinions, some say natural and some say synthetic. LWUV - bright violet red. SWUV - dull violet red. I have no doubt it isn't a Vernueil synthetic but possibly Chatham if synthetic.
I would appreciate any comments based on the above.

File comment: This is a pic of the fine needle inclusion that bends like the one in the GIA article.

Can you provide a picture of the stone without magnification in a normal lighting situation?
Thanks

That last image sure looks like a classic platinum inclusion found in Chatham synthetics. If the needle from your first set of images is indeed curved(I cannot tell from the image), I lean towards synthetic. The Chrome line in the spectra is consistent but hardly definitive.

Gemology should not be practiced through on line images so take this with a grain of salt.

Absolutely. The responses assist in going in a direction of research that I may have missed.
I appreciate all the responses.
