I just got a mixed lot of cheap stones. The garnets are wonderfully full of inclusions.

agreed.
if I ever need an inclusion pick-me-up a garnet is a great choice. the precision in how the needles lay is particularly beautiful.

mod note: the beauty of being a mod is I can correct embarassing typos in my post and in the quote of it too! Unlimited poooower!

Probably more what "shots" started out as...

"Rawrly" didn't morph until a second amendment.

Other folk's typos make me giggle - I do something like 25 words and 12 typos per minute, so I can see myself doing the same thing, or worse!

Garnets are my favorite for introducing inclusions and microscope work to students. They are also my choice for first use of spectroscopes.


No one is worse than me when I type on my smartphone. Some pretty weird things go out from that device.
