My first job out of college was with British Petroleum searching for foraminifera and radiolaria in sediment cores. Horrors. Microscopic paleontology is a sure path to suicide or homicide.
Didn't take me too long to get back in a jewelry store.
I dunno, some of the harder core microscope enthusiasts (or as my brother calls them/us, scope creeps) love to spend time on diatoms in particular. I have to admit they make for some lovely photos, and show the quality of your optics pretty clesrly as well. (Everything I've heard about mudlogging and advacent activities has seemed terrifying though)

The original poster was a spammer. He tried to edit the original post with a link to a used car site. No longer with us. But I think there is some good info included, so I am not deleting the post.
