Hi everyone.

Many thanks for allowing me to join the forums.

I'm Chris, an antique dealer (along with my wife) from the UK. I've always had an interest in gemology and crystals and now I'm getting a bit older I am also using this as a good excuse to expand into jewellery (it's a lot easier on the back than a Welsh dresser!). I do come across some interesting and unusual items from time to time, and I'm hoping I may be able to get some sage advice here. I'm very much a novice as to gemology but if anyone needs help with something antique (ie a set piece) I may be of more use.

I do have a couple of questions (which is how I found this site) and I will try and post them in the appropriate categories and I look forward to getting to know members here.

Cheers!

Welcome indeed. I'm sure we'll try and help out as much as we can. The appraisal teacher I had was one the specialized a little in period pieces and antiques for jewellery but she's always busy, it'll be nice to know in case we need another point of view on antique pieces.
