About 5 years ago before I started my GIA studies.......I bought what I thought was a yellow sapphire ring in Cambodia. I finally got around to identifying it. I'm pretty certain it is a zircon. OTL Strong doubling Wk fire S-adam polish red under SW facet edges are starting to abrade because I've worn it quite a lot.
I don't have a good enough camera to shoot it for you today. It's about 12 carats, octagon cut, set in a white gold plated, 2 prong basket. I paid $175.00 USD. I really love it, even though I know I got ripped off. However....I looked online today for loose, Cambodian, yellow zircons of this size. I found some at over $1000.00 USD. Is this really possible?

175.00 US for a 12ct clean yellow zircon is a bargain. You might have been lied to about it's identity, but if it's a natural zircon, you still did very well indeed.
This is the little devil zircon. I double checked the spectroscope reading. Most definitely! I wish I could get a good pic. (My kids use to do that or me. Now they are grown up and moved away.) I'll try to get a better one.

To add to a fuzzy picture try using a magnifying glass on a stand from Radio Shack.... then when you shoot the ring again we can enlarge picture and confirm your identity. More I'd tricks to follow....w
