Dear all I am Nis, and just recently got so attracted to gem stone, specially Emerald I've got good offer on emerald, along with certificate, however, after some intensive research on net, I feel awkward with this certificate I have contacted seller, and he/she said maybe there is a mistake is certificate (WOW) as per my attached certificate copy, shown on treatment section : ' Heated' I never heard of heated emerald, or may be because of my shallow knowledge that I haven't hear about this heating treatment? Thank you for your advise Nis

It appears as though it was produced by globalgemlab.org They have a link on their site to verify reports issued by them. It leads to their contact page: http://www.globalgemlab.com/contact.html Heated emerald? Why would someone do that? Check on it and let us know. I am also moving your post to a better category. |

I have check http://www.globalgemslab.org, and indeed there is a section on it to check the certificate, appear that certificate attached on my previous post is valid, and issued by them. I have gone furthermore, I check their website, their website was established on Jun 2016, and will require renewal on this june, contact address is using free email service (gmail), and their physical address is India Now I am become more and more pesimistic with the authenticity of this certificate |

You are correct. I misread the URL. The specs they list on the stone are correct. Contact them and ask how they determined heat treatment. |

One of their links was for this http://globalgemologicalsociety.com/?re ... yhol5jLab= which is actually a free domain on godaddy....I work with the lab of the National authority for customer protection of Romania and they have gemological lab. Their are 100% accurate and professional but they issue some A4 paper printed with a signature and a stamp without any picture or safety holder. |

Maybe "heated" means that the 'emerald" is a synthetic hydrothermal stone? There are such stones used by jewellers to copy patron jewelry when they travel outside USA. Saves insurance coverage, losses, and allows patrons to have inexpensive bling. Winstone |

Unlikely. Hydrothermal emeralds aren't dirt cheap, and the color and appearance are still wrong anyway. |

Now I am 100% agree, this stone was advertised on ebay One of their links was for this http://globalgemologicalsociety.com/?re ... yhol5jLab= which is actually a free domain on godaddy....I work with the lab of the National authority for customer protection of Romania and they have gemological lab.
