Many thanks for your kind words Danielle.

There is no gem on the suspension ring, it is just silver in that geometric shape with a bezel like edge to complement the pendant.

Btw the design was inspired by a youtube lecture by Peter Lu of Harvard U. on decagonal and quasicrystalline tilings.

Pretty!
I really like how the perfectly matching green and golden play of colour in the opal is complemented by the demantoid and 18k Y.
Any particular design philosophy behind the choice of quatrefoil prongs?

I originally wanted to incorporate diamond-set 5 petal flowers for prongs but this seemed like a better and more secure way to get the illusion of flowers while letting the opal speak for itself.

An attempt at designing a geometric maple leaf in fall colors of garnet. The most challenging aspect was getting the five gems to blend seamlessly - locked into position with only one prong each. The crowns follow a checkerboard style of facet pattern deliberately skewed to better mimic a leafy texture - the pavilions are in step style for a more harmonious color presentation. The silver stem doubles as a support for the gems.

I like that a lot! The red is wonderful but I'd love to see it in sunset tourmaline too, maybe fading from green at the center to orange at the edges with yellow in between.....yeah that'd be nice.

Thank you - undoubtedly tourmaline offers a richer palette of colors albeit managing the sharp facet junctions at the points would be more challenging. For these garnets as well the girdles had to be kept on the thicker side and corners slightly rounded on the polishing lap to facilitate setting.

Another attempt at painting flowers with the gem palette, the tulip obsession finally comes to fruition in rhodolite petals and emerald leaves, the main challenge was calibrating the gems with both curved and straight edges, the silver setting was also demanding with only the bottom prong interrupting the tulip profile. The gems got a bar style crown to add to the three dimensionality of the petals as well as a velvety appearance as the pendant moves.

Hi Gemarts PK

I also like this tulip very much, it is one of my favorite flowers.
This pendant is original, very well thought out and beautifully crafted.
Congrats !

Another curve and linear cut ensemble, this time a "Meeting of Hearts" pendant... literally.... The two lobes were matched and cut in mirror image with the straight edges aligned during setting in silver. Rhodolites for a "hearty" colour with checkerboard style facets to give a more organic smoother surface. Prongs kept to minimum both in size and quantity for a least interrupted heart profile.
