I have a very basic question. The formula for calculating gemstone SG has always been air weight/(air weight-water weight.) I recently weighed a piece of celestite, air weight 12, water weight 3-4. The SG would not come out right, but I notice some people are using the formula air weight/water weight. Which one is correct? Thanks.

Formula depends on the weighing method you use (there are two possible methods): viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11405
