Don't misunderstand. I just wanted to be sure your expectations were in line with what is possible through this forum.
We are all happy to help in you education. If yu would like the definitive book to this subject I recommend Ruby and Sapphire by Richard Hughes at Lotus Gemology. I think it is the best book on corundum I have ever read. His website is also a great resource.

Doing some research on Sandqvist Gerdt Hartvig, I don't see any examples of them using synthetic stones. Again, as Steve pointed out, this is indicative, not confrimative.

I feel the stone is likely earth mined.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look! This is good (indicative) news and a bit surreal. It was sold as a "brooch with purple stone" and I did'nt pay much.
Any suggestion on which lab to use? Bearing in mind I'm located in Sweden, not to mention the current pendemic.
Update. Mr Conny Forsberg looked at this sapphire and determend that this is a synthetic flame fusion sapphire. I thought that was very interesting. I have not seen any inclusions pictures of flame fusion sapphire that resemble the inclusions in this stone.

It is not too hard to add fractures, and then to stain them. And it can be a very convincing effect if done well.
Yes, very convincing I just thought I'd share. There might be others like me, who are'nt experts and are searching the internet. Maybe it will help someone.
