Hi everyone. I have a necklace that has purple stones that look similar to turquoise but are purple. Any ideas? There is also a pendant with a purple stone that I can't identify. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [-o<

Looks like Sugilite from South Africa.

However, I have seen dyed stone look like this as well. We would have to have more than a picture to prove either.

Initially I would also have said sugilite - but something looks wrong about it.

Anther possibilitiy for the large stone is purpurite . But I've seen so much similar dyed material masquerading as "turquoise" I'd be skeptical without tests. The beads look like dyed howlite to me.

The necklace looks like it is a Native American style.

Much of the Native American style jewelry available on the market today is Asian.

Also, a crazy, dyed, reconstituted "purple turquoise" is often incorporated in these pieces. Purported being from the Kingsman Mine.

Thank you everyone! You're the best! I have a couple more pieces of jewelry that I cannot identify with any certainty what they are.
