Post subject:  Agates from Argentina.

In the world of microcrystalline quartz, Argentina has provided a very important contribution to the agate world. It may be one of the countries with the largest variety of colorful agate deposits available in commercial quantities.
So far there is 8 known agate deposits in Argentina which are all known in the market under commercial names. Dividing the country by regions, then provinces will make it easier to understand where the specific agates and their deposits are found. The following shows us the breakdown:

NORTHEAST REGION:
AGATE NAME DEPOSIT LOCATION
Black River Agate Entre Rios Province
Cuatia Agate Corrientes Province

MID-WEST REGION:
AGATE NAME DEPOSIT LOCATION
Condor Agate Mendoza Province
Puma Agate Mendoza Province

SOUTHWEST REGION
AGATE NAME DEPOSIT LOCATION
Patagonian Agate Chubut Province
Crater Agate Chubut Province
Ghost Agate Santa Cruz Province
Snow Agate Santa Cruz Province


Each of this agates has their unique features, which will be described in detail with sample pictures attached in the following chapters.
