I’ve inherited this ring and believe it’s by Mappin & Webb. Comes in its box.
Is it worth getting it insured? What are stone cuts? OEC ?

Hallmarked, Birmingham 1898 MW.

Thankyou

What a gorgeous ring! They look like mine cuts - there may be a transitional in there, too...can't quite tell. I'd have it looked at and insured if it were mine.

The ring is valuable. Other than that, it is your decision.

I agree - if it were mine, I would get it appraised.

You inherited a magnificent ring ,Isabel !
In my opinion, rate your ring if you want to sell it
Above all , enjoy it !

Nice ring, but Mappin & Webb always did nice stuff. One point, as you say, a Birmingham mark, but for Mappin & Webb I would have expected a London mark, worth investigating further.
