Good afternoon!

This ring was found in my late grandmothers possessions, and I was hoping you could tell me more about it! Attached are some pictures. Thanks!

Looks like opal and possibly rhodolite garnet. Stamped 18k. Any other markings in the ring shank? Really you need to take it to qualified person for id and evaluations.

Looks like Opal and pink sapphire are likely to me by the color and texture. But just a guess by picture. Take to a qualified gemologist to be sure.

More interesting to me is the ring itself.
Stamped IS★
I couldn't find this maker's mark in my reference guides.
Is there a quality stamp, or have you tested the fineness of the metal?
The basket style gallery is unusually high and the components seem fabricated, as one can see remnants of solder in the profile.

I'd say, it looks mid-century, probably the 60's. Australian opal with pink sapphires, probably sold as ruby.

The star is seen in a lot of Italian makers marks; the "IS", I believe, could be the province.

I ran across similar marks (for different provinces) on some unmarked palladium jewelry, but mine also had makers marks.

I believe the mark is a metal grade 18k.
