My son was recently on the hunt for the perfect engagement ring sapphire.
He found an awesome stone cut by John Dyer. Untreated Madagascar with some zircon inclusions.
Read on.

Congratulations to your son!
These madagascan sapphires are really cool--anything that can be easily confused for Kashmir is a win in my book.

What I found most interesting is that in many cases Kashmir and Madagascar sapphires can be hard to distinguish.

Both contain zircon crystals, BUT....
The zircon xls in the Kashmir material have been dated to approx 20my.
(AKA New Kids on the Corundum Block)

The zircon in Madagascar sapphire has been dated to 200+ million years in age.

Thanks for the congrats on my son. =D> =D> =D>
