Does anyone happen to have some Czochralski available to test its LW/SW UV reaction, particularly blue?

I've googled a lot and can't seem to find much of anything about it. My initial guess would be similar to other melt processes (LW inert, SW chalky whitish blue/green) but just want to make sure.

Thank you!

The reaction you describe has been reported as diagnostic in Czochralski pink sapphires colored with titanium not chromium. (G&G Fall 1995, Dr. Mary Johnson)
Blue? I find no specific information on that.
Perhaps you can contact this vendor and ask:
https://www.gemsngems.com/product-categ ... -sapphire/

Report back.
Thanks

Alright, I sent them an email and also asked Mr Challener. If I don’t get a response, I’ll buy some rough and post my results on here.

Mr Challener responded and said their Czochralski appears inert to UV, very interesting.

I'll keep my eye out for other people I can ask because gemstones.com lists the response as "Variable." Don't know if that's a generic placeholder or it will vary by manufacturer. I know most hydrothermal and a lot of flux are similarly inert.

After I discovered a blue sapphire that fluoresces red under LWUV I've been looking into these reactions :D

To be clear that was with a 365nm peak source. I will try with classic sw sometime.
Titanium sapphire is fun. Its peak excitation and emission are shifted vs chromium sapphire, so it absorbs blue and emits a little red and (mostly) infrared

Alright, I got it in today!

365nm LWUV: Inert.

254nm SWUV: Chalky bluish white, weak to moderate.

So it does respond similarly to flame fusion.

Fluorescence certainly isn't diagnostic, but LW inert / SW chalky blue or chalky green seems to be the rule of thumb for Verneuil, Czochralski, and flux.

Oh yeah I forgot to post my results.
All my titanium sapphire did show chalky blue. My czochralski blue had zones of blue fluorescence but was mostly not very responsive.
