So this Sunday we'll continue a discussion of color-center, putting to use that knowledge we learned about potential energy and total energy. I will be referring to the diagrams at the bottom of this thread.

Oh, unless y'all wanna do something else.

Well, maybe we made some headway in the discussion of color center action in this strange zircon material. As of right now, I plan to continue the topic this Sunday. Unless of course, it has gotten too boring.

As wypwong reminded me, what I've been describing is a model for the specific case of the zircon. When we finish that, we can see how this model can be modified pretty easily to account for tenebrescence in hackmanite.

I'd like to continue with the chat as it stands Brian. My interest hasn't wavered

I like to keep these things going to the end, I've really enjoyed the last few weeks chats. I've looked back at my notes when we talked about the maths for this. It almost seems everything from every chat is related to everything else... maybe I'm starting to "get it"

I really enjoy the chats too, I started to understand the science behind it, but it will take me a while to understand fully....

Shame that I can't come..... :(

Enjoy the chat, see you next sunday.

Well this past Sunday was most interesting. We pretty much finished this topic of the strange zircon. What gem topic next? Maybe it is time for something from the Gem-A curriculum?

Actually, the past three Sundays haven't been posted. Taken together, they form a somewhat coherent discussion of the topic.
