Hi Phyllis,

Chats were on hold for the duration of the holidays. We will be back on again next week.

Any suggestions for which subject we should do? You are all heading for diploma in June now so anything you'd like to go over is good for me.

Be well

Frank

I'm in for this weekend. I'm on reading week, will post topics that I'd like to go over more thoroughly later in the week if that's ok.

Hi All,

this week we will be starting a new topic... colour. Tonight's chat will be on transition elements.

Hope to see you all there.

Best regards

Frank

I need to pay this part of the forum more attention!
Colour and transition elements are exactly what've kept me busy this past week. And I missed the chat! I don't suppose there's a chat log one can access?
BTW, for everyone's amusement: It actually took me some time before I realised the chat was yesterday ... I noticed "chat", "transition elements" and "tonight" and I was already off trying to find that chat window ...

Excellent, thanks both of you!

As a sidenote, I found the chatroom so I'll be better prepared next time! ;)

Missed you Drags (nobody gives me such good virtual hugs as you do)

Catta the current chats are focusing on folks who plan to sit their Gem-A diploma exams in June...guess that makes them perfect for you :). As an ex distance learning student I can assure they they are invaluable for folks who don't have regular contact with a tutor.

Sorry the chats aren't covering the full subject from start to finish (not so good for the newbies) but as I said All (well at least most) the students who are attending at the moment are gem-a diploma students so we are concentrating more on the slightly more advanced stuff.

Next week we'll do intervalence charge transfer (covered slightly last week) and if time permits maybe we'll carry on to colour centres
