Hello all! I have posted some photos of a 2nd ruby of 0.87 ct. I got it to my university to examine under microscope. I want to determine the origin (country) of this ruby. My notices are below: - Probably epidote inclusion in a small cavity in the surface of stone in black cycle. Its color is yellow-golden (my initial thoughts was mica or purite due to its color but my professor said me that it is epidote) - Unkonwn black inclusion in the surface of stone in blue cycle (My professor and me couldn't indentify this unclusion)
Any ideas what is the black inclusion (in blue cycle)....and what is the origin of ruby?? Are there epidote inclusions in rubies??
I bought it from a pwanbroker who got it off from an old jewellery at 10/01/2015. So, I imagine we can exclude the newest discoveries of ruby deposits since 2010 (as example) due to taking long time from digging the ruby, cutting, putting in jewellery, buying by a customer, selling to pawnbroker, getting off the jewellery...
