Hello, Here is a specimen of ethiopian fire opal. Would you polish the stone up or just keep as is? Im scared the more i polish it, the more im changing it from its cool looking raw form. Do collectors prefer raw specimens or cleaned up ones? Any thoughts?

Hmm. That looks like it already has some surface crazing. If it is does Shewa it will not survive cutting--brown and black opals from there sometimes do, but oranges never do. I would not risk it. |

Yes, right ftom shewa and got lots of crazing, better leave as is. Cheers |
