I found this crystal picture and info on mindat. This could possibly be the coolest tourmaline crystal I have ever seen. Look at all the colors in the crystal. WOW! Elbaite tourmaline Teófilo Otoni, Mucuri valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil "Superb multi colored elbaite. Size 4x0,5x0,5cm. Rafael Hernandes Corrêa-Silva Collection" http://www.mindat.org/locdetailed-5828.html

Hi Barbra,
The reddish cap does it for me. I don't think that I have seen a better selection of colors. It must of had a very dynamic childhood. To bad multi banded crystals of tourmaline are generally included.

How is it even possible for a crystal to grow like this, with such a wide change in color and such even transitions? I can't work my head around it...like what the hell was going on in the ground for this to happen?
