Hmm. Does that mean a filling with elementar Pb was added to simulate a pattern of natural looking mineral inclusions? I am a bit confused.

Lead is a very common component in glass. Waterford Crystal is 40% lead.
The earliest known example of lead glass is blue! It dates to 1400 BC.
Bristol Blue Glass made in the UK since the 1700's is made with cobalt and lead, specifically 24% lead oxide.

Which is why you never leave alcohol stored in lead-glass crystal [-X . Decant it back to its original bottle.

I like my fuel unleaded and my liquor leaded. Or is it the other way around? I forget, they taste so similar.

I do not believe that lead is soluble in alcohol. It is the acids in wine that can be problematic. Spirits should not be a problem.

Someone correct me if I have it wrong.

Actually, I think you'll find any liquid left in lead-crystal glass will eventually leach out some of the lead. Wine, spirits, kool-aid ... choose your "poison" 8)

Perhaps, if you have ever stored your Scotch in a Lead Crystal Decanter for a length of time, you've noticed an iridescent film on top of your whiskey....that's lead.
