Alain didn't act out of an impulse.

I had that same thought as I started remembering things of recent. Little things like ending the traveling stone program and getting things back to their rightful owners. Unfortunately none of us knew what was happening.

To Paul, thank you for the letter.

I can attest to the fact that Alain would have appreciated a scholarship in his name while here on earth - I'm sure he feels the same now. He and I had discussed this about 5 months ago, he was actually trying to find a scholarship for me to take the GIA courses. Unfortunately, we couldn't come up with anything at the time and the discussion ended with him telling me he would keep looking and if he came up with anything, he would email me. Never heard anything back, now I understand why.....he had more important things to handle personally.

Rest in Peace my friend,

Here is a photo of Alain's cats that he sent to me:

I hope he made arrangements for them as well.
I know he loved them like they were his children.

Thanks a lot Tim and Paul.

I never got to know Alain very well, but what you write mirrors very well my image of him. Intelligent, quick, funny and warm at a distance. He was not always nice, he had temper and a will to set people straight, but I can't remember that he ever said anything hard without having a cause in his mind.

I won't attend the funeral tomorrow as I would feel like an intruder, but I'll keep his memory in mind and think of you who are there.

May peace rest in your hearts, for while I can feel insufficient to not have given him more appreciation, which might or might not have stayed him among us longer, I feel certain that he wouldn't wish his passing to be cause for unrest and worry like that he himself felt.

Anders

Sonnet XXX

When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancelled woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanished sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restor'd and sorrows end.

I do not know what to say. I have been away from the forum for a very long time, but somehow I have always felt at home in this one forum, and Alain was one of the main reasons.

I feel like I have lost a family member...

Rest in Peace Alain.
