Martin Haske passed away on January 12, 2022 after a long illness. Marty was the first one to use fiber optic spectrometers for gemology and the first one to build and sell a portable Raman spectrometer for gemology , all in the mid to late 1990s. He was the recipient of many gemological awards and a couple of patents. He was a graduate of MIT for his Bachelor's and Masters in Engineering. His real Day Job was designing celestial navigation software for Intercontinental Ballistic Missles. Rest Easy, my Friend.
