It occurred to me that I never really introduced myself here, just asked a couple questions and lurked around.

My name is Raeghan, I’m from Saskatchewan, been working in jewellery, retail sect primarily for 8 years. Was supposed to be a just pay the bills to figure out what I wanted to do when I grow up, and I ended up discovering an absolute passion for the industry as a whole (frustrations and all lol). I decided that I wanted to make this into a career after about 3 years and began researching what’s next. I did my GG through the GIA via distance education, but completed my Gem Ident on site in Carlsbad. After finishing that up, I went ahead and did the Master Valuer course. I’m not sure I ever really understood passion before discovering the mass of knowledge and interest that could be found in gemstones. My goal is to be able to be an independent appraiser capable of supporting myself without another job someday, I expect a long journey yet, but so far have enjoyed every step of it.

The brilliance within the members I’ve found reading through various threads in this forum is incredible, and the amount I’ve learned and know I can continue to learn from here makes me truly glad I found it!
