The picture of the ginormous Sapphire stone sold at an auction for like 400 dollars. The second smaller rock that is is saturated with color is being sold for 25 dollars. Are either of these a good source to get a nice gemstone out of? I want raw Ceylon Sapphire if I can find it online.

Hi Rocksanne (that is the best name, ever!) and welcome to our forum.
Your first piece doesn't look like a sapphire to me. It appears to be a dyed unknown.
Can't make out the 2nd picture. What is it?

:smt073 did this just happen here.
But honestly why not review some respected sites like the GIA, they have a very large article base in the Gems & Gemology publication.
Define your meaning "good" in relation to corundum "sapphire" rough gem terms.
Are you just looking for a Ceylon blue colored or a actual "Ceylon" Sri Lanka Sapphire.
This would be my vision of a great sapphire.

I'm with Barbra on this one, it screams fake. You need to look at a lot of sapphire rough and get a feel for it, then you will be able to make a better decision.

The second image looks like a piece of a countertop material.

I'm going to steal this comment from facebook.
"It'd be even more valuable if they'd shine a red light on it!"
