I thought possibly cassiterite because it resembles a picture I seen in a book, but I can't find the picture or anything that resembles my rock. The rock itself is very heavy and looks to contain lots of pyrite. Also looks to be rusting. The crystals are a dark red/orange color and most appear to form in cubic shapes.. if any of that info helps??

I think you are correct about garnet! Found some samples of Spessartite Garnet that are almost identical. So far that is what it is looking like. Thank you so much and if anyone has anything to add please do.

Steve is more than likely right, garnet. At first look I visioned octahedral like shapes.
