What is a nice microscope that can used to both look at/grade/identify gemstones and also have a hookup to take photos? Don't really have a idea on prices atm but we're looking for one for a jewelry store and want good quality.

You can't go wrong with one of the GIA Gemolite Scopes with the trinocular option for permanently mounting a camera.

Those can be difficult to find. But, there are photographic setups for the binocular scopes too.

Beware the inexpensive scopes you see from places like Amscopes. They just to perform to an acceptable standard.

it was almost a year ago i was on the same hunt. i settled on a Leica S9D which is the model with the trinocular port. i really do like my scope but there is a significant learning curve to photomicroscopy and obtaining the proper fittings can be expensive and there is no one size fits all.
That being said, it may not be the cheapest route to take but Leica also makes the same scope with an integrated camera that might be a nice solution.
