Hi,

Could you please support me to configure PerkinElmer Spectrum 2 FTIR with a proper DRIFT accessory for the gem stone analysis. IS there any modifications to be done ? Please share the details since we gonna implement it in Sri Lanka

thank you,
Himala

I can't comment on how to use the drift assembly, but I do know that crystalsleuth (which is free) does do ftir mineral matching. I have heard that the database for minerals with FTIR is not particularly large, though.

This is a correction: I mis-remembered. Crystal Sleuth does NOT to FTIR, in spite of the fact that IR spectra are included in the RRUFF database for some stones.

Himala,
I take it that you are looking for an attachment, if so you may want to check with Pike Technologies to obtain a DRIFTS module that will fit into your Perkin Elmer FTIR. We've been using this one for years on our Perkin Elmer system.
