Hello! This is my 1st post here!

I'm taking over the appraisals as our as just retired. She had an old GIA Diamond Light, and don't think she was using it though. It seems to work but wonder if this is too antiquated to use? All the bulbs are working.

Trying to get an image into this post but will try in a separate post!

Question is, it seems like it's usable and wonder if anyone has some instruction guide. I'm a GG from 2006 and mostly have been in retail since then, so haven't touched any gem equipment in years!

Thank you in advance!
Christine

Hi Christine and welcome.
Is this the light you are referring to?

Quite suitable.
-Just order all new lights for the unit.
-Make sure you have a set of reliable master stones.

I always start with the upper opening option.
Easier to compare your unknown's profile with the lowest color grade and move up.

Still as usefull today as it has always been. make sure you review your color grading lessons and test for flourecence prior to calling the color grade.
