I occasionally get involved in engraving work on stone does any one have experience doing this sort of work under a microscope.
I used both hand engraving tools and small diamond burrs for the last job which was on a layered shell but I had difficulty getting the work as accurate as I wanted. Hence the reason I thought a microscope might help matters.
I suspect dust may be a problem getting stuck to the lens.
Love to know thoughts of any one with experience .

There are bench scopes designed just for such purposes. Check with Rio Grande and other jewelers supply companies.
