Hi every body,
I was wondering if anyone had any idea how much a semi translucent oval facetted dyed ruby costs?
Can it be considered as a very rare stone?

An oval translucent dyed ruby is essentially worthless. Sorry.

I do not think it matters much. If it is not transparent and brilliant nothing much can make it "rare". Even dyed junk is nothing but junk...

Sometimes, bigger doesn't always mean more valuable... In this case, you probably have a slightly attractive paperweight.

Size takes an item out of jewelry into mineral sample which is another market. Apples do not make oranges. Valuation based on size is a common mistake.

Dear goldassayer, do not waste / block you money on buying such a material. As my friends tell you that the dyed ruby prices are very low, mostly African rubies are used for these purpose.

For your interest and for information purpose I attach e-bay links which are selling such types of rubies which you mentioned .
