Thanks Tony/Ryan - is it direct or indirect sunlight that causes these to fade? ...guess anything affected by 'indirect' would have the same results with 'direct' wouldn't it...
I'm trying to figure out the types of stones to avoid when I know one of my pieces will possibly be near a window or direct sunlight...there are some I'll probably avoid completely just because they're so affected by everyday light exposure. My backs are always completely dry and sealed with UV protection sealers so those are no problem.
May as well throw in Prasiolite with citrine/ammy.
Did I imagine once reading about Morganites sometimes fading? I tend to get Kunzite and Morganite things mixed up, so maybe. It does ring a bell though....
Also, dunno if we are only doing facet materials here, but they always say to leave Chrysoprase away from sunlight too.

No I'm not restricted to any specific material. What will happen with Chrysoprase? I have some beautiful antique jewelry pieces with chrysoprase in them but I don't even have them unpacked.
eta: TIM! THANK YOU! That's it! Tenebrescent zircons, not tourmalines.
