Quote:
July 01, 2014

New York--Following the appointment of a new CEO, lab-grown diamond company Gemesis Inc. has announced that it is rebranding itself as “Pure Grown Diamonds.”

“The new name reinforces our commitment to disclosure and transparency,” Pure Grown Diamonds President and CEO Lisa Bissell said. “We will continue working to make lab-grown diamonds a choice for consumers and a valuable opportunity for the industry.”

Hi, Barbra. Thank you for the list of diamond producers - I am sure it will come in handy.

The new name for Gemesis is interesting. To me the name is a little more misleading with the words "pure grown"...

When I heard that I vomited in disgust. I guess they do not mention the metallic catalysts used in HPHT growth which they have to saw off before cutting. Gemesis got its start at the University of Florida in Gainesville using Russian-developed growth methods. I remember Carter Clark inviting me to see the operation and meet the staff back in 1998.
