hi all
few weeks ago a client come to my lab with a big piece of "stone"...
wanted a cert for it...sure it was some kind of unique treasure gemstone..
actually i saw the same piece, from a different client, a couple of years ago, again in dubai...its a kind of "lamellar aggregate of macro crystals in exagonal shape...reddish color (it looked like a color dyeing)...transparent...with many tiny spheres of some metallic material deposited on the crystals but also present as inclusions...very weird stuff i must say...couldnt find the final identification but im quite sure its a synthetic product...maybe resulting from some industrial activity...or maybe a flux grown synthetic (ruby?)...

btw i told him all the story and he showed me a copy of a cert that he had from a "Lab" in Bratislava. (i will not mention any name or address)

here is the cert

Image

apart from the "fantastic" description of the stone by the "Lab"...does any one have a clue on what it could be?

ciao

Absolutely hilarious!

Woah. What especially makes me sick is that the so called cert comes from central europe. Aside that you don´t mention the name on it, I hope that someone has already taken care of the source of such papers.

I think, without having petter picture material, that the description of origin from an unknown industrial process is a very elegant way to name what we have here.

Nevertheless a good reminder for us to never underestimate the creativity of betrayal, thanks for sharing.

Certainly, you can post the name of the lab.

That's a beautiful ruby! I'm sure you can make nice abrasive powder out of it. :D
